The Quilotoa is a crater in the form of a caldera with a lagoon 3 kilometers wide and 250 meters deep that was formed by the collapse of this volcano, followed by an eruption approximately 812 years ago, which produced a pyroclastic flow and flows of mud that reached the Pacific Ocean, which deposited volcanic ash through the air along the Andes, dissolved
minerals gave it the very particular emerald green color, in addition to
presenting fumaroles at the bottom of the lake that make it a unique tourist attraction, additionally we can have direct contact with the indigenous community of Quilotoa.
