This Amazon rainforest is the most extensive tropical forest in the world, it is co nsidered that itsextension reaches 7,000,000 km2 distributed among nine countries, the Amazon rainforest is developed around the Amazon River and its river basin, the high temperatures favor the development of a dense and exuberant vegetation, always green. The title Lung of the Planet tells us that it maintains a climatic balance, the Amazon has an enormous amount of flora and fauna species and in Ecuador it is not the exception.

Day 1: Quito – Lago Agrio – Cuyabeno

  • Flight or bus to Lago Agrio
  • Private land transportation from Lago Agrio to El Puente
  • Canoe trip down the Cuyabeno river to our lodge
  • Visit the Laguna Grande to swim and enjoy the sunset
  • Night walk

Day 2: Cuyabeno

  • Walk in primary forest to learn about medicinal plants and biodiversity
  • Navigating the river to observe pink dolphins
  • Night canoe expedition in search of alligators

Day 3: Cuyabeno

  • Remo in a traditional canoe on Laguna Caimancocha
  • Hike in the primary forest including lessons on the use of medicinal plants for survival
  • Relax time in the Laguna Grande where you can swim

Day 4: Cuyabeno

  • Visit the Shaman
  • Visit Siona Community Tarapuy where the naturalist guide will explain about the culture and traditions of native people

Day 5: Cuyabeno

  • Early morning bird watching
  • Navigating the Cuyabeno river back to El Puente
  • Transfer to Lago Agrio
  • Return to Quito by bus or plane
