Otavalo, also known as San Luis de Otavalo, is referred to as an intercultural capital; the second largest and most populated city in the Province of Imbabura. It is located north of the Inter Andean Region of Ecuador, in the hoya of the Chota River, crossed by the Tejar River, with an average climate of 16 ° C. On this day you can get to know the Quichua culture, going deeper into its culture, customs, language and way of life, such as agriculture, and its forms of commerce, as well as visiting unique places such as the ponchos market, emblematic place in Latin America Being the oldest in the region, it is worth mentioning that on Saturdays we can observe that the city is transformed into a large artisan, textile and animal market. You will also visit the waterfall and the community of Peguche, a short walking trail where we will find abundant vegetation and an introduction to the Quichua community.
Day Program
- Departure from Quito at 7:00 in the morning towards the province of Imbabura
- On the road we will do some stops before arriving at the Otavalo market
- Arrive at the San Pablo Lake viewpoint and you will have time to take good pictures
- Visit and enjoy the animal market
- Continue to the craft market
- Visit the community of Peguche: We will do a short walk to the waterfall , visit a craft
workshop of textiles and wind musical instruments - Return to Quito or to your destination

Visit the largest artisan fair in northern Ecuador that takes place every Saturday from 5 am - Departure from Quito 5:00 in the morning towards the Otavalo Artisan Market
